Who We Are

The Fellowship of First Fleeters Southern Highland Chapter is a branch of the Fellowship of First Fleeters, an organisation whose members are the descendants of the people who arrived at Sydney Cove in the eleven ships of the First Fleet from England on the 26th of January 1788.

The Southern Highlands Chapter is based in the towns of Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale and surrounding villages in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

Membership of the Fellowship of First Fleeters is open to anybody who has an interest in early Australian History, regardless of age or where you are from.

Anybody who can prove they are a direct descendant of a First Fleet convict, marine, sailor or government official can become a Full Member of the Fellowship of First Fleeters.

Spouses/partners of direct descendants can join as Associate Members.

Anybody else who is interested in early Australian history can join as a Friend Member – see the ‘Chapter Membership’ page for more detail.
